Environments

Wyvern provides two separate environments for all components of our Online Platform, including the API, customer console, and documentation.

Sandbox environment​

  • Purpose: The sandbox environment is intended for testing, development, and integration work.
  • Behavior: Orders placed in the sandbox are not real and will not be collected by the satellite. The sandbox simulates API responses for safe experimentation. Once an order is accepted status, it will not move further in the order lifecycle. Full lifecycle simulation is currently unsupported. A sandbox deliverable exists which can be downloaded for testing.
  • Audience: Use the sandbox to test your integration, try out API features, or validate workflows before moving to production.
  • Stability: The sandbox environment may change at any time and is not guaranteed to be stable or persistent. Data and features may be reset or updated without notice. Best efforts will be made to have parity between the sandbox and production environments but it is not guarunteed.

Production environment​

  • Purpose: The production environment is the live system where real orders are placed and processed.
  • Behavior: Any order submitted in production will be scheduled for collection by Wyvern satellites and will result in real data delivery.
  • Audience: Use this environment for all operational and customer-facing activities.
  • Stability: The production environment is stable and maintained for reliability and uptime.

Summary​

  • Use Sandbox for testing and development. Do not rely on sandbox data or behavior for critical workflows.
  • Use Production for real operations and customer orders.
